Job Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Digital Communications, the Digital Communications Specialist is responsible for managing, supporting and implementing web and email engagement strategies in support of university marketing and communications efforts. The Digital Communications Specialist plays a pivotal role in amplifying the University's voice and reputation online. This position is expected to take on complex web projects with a high level of autonomy and will be responsible for the active maintenance, optimization, and user support of a select set of websites within the University's content management systems, Sitefinity and HubSpot. The Digital Communications Specialist is responsible for maintaining our various platforms, building engaging and responsive landing pages, managing content in partnership with key content owners to enhance user friendliness, accessibility and effectiveness. This position will also drive brand recognition and engagement by building email lists, designing compelling email content, and deploying effective automation strategies using our suite of electronic communications tools, such as the Salesforce CRM, Marketing Cloud, Cvent

Beyond technical expertise, you'll be a trusted advisor, offering digital insights and support while championing collaboration. Your understanding of how web and email tools integrate with the University's broader marketing and communications strategy will be invaluable.

Work Location:

Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 2-3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings (Aurora, CO).

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, fine arts, computer science or related field or equivalent professional experience
  • 2 years of experience in a Digital Communications role

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of professional experience
  • Experience with digital asset management systems
  • Fluency in a variety of design tools, such as Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), Microsoft Office applications, PowerPoint, or other related programs
  • Experience with UX/UI

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in content management systems (CMS) and email marketing platforms
  • Experience with event registration/management applications and relationship management (CRM) tools
  • Proficient in coding languages such as HTML, CSS, and more
  • Familiarity with SEO principles and basic web analytics tools, like Google Analytics
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience working in digital marketing and providing analysis of outcomes as well as recommendations for continual improvement
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience effectively setting priorities, achieving goals and measuring results
  • Ability to generate ideas and coordinate execution of these ideas
  • Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to seeing projects to successful completion and passion for learning and staying ahead of the curve in the digital landscape

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $54,254-$65,000.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
