Job Description
The Digital Brand Marketing Communications Specialist (DBMCS) role is the social media strategist and lead creator and manager of our digital channels. The DBMCS leverage digital channels, storytelling (visual and written), and in-person events to promote and educate customers about OGC with a consistent voice for our brand and our community. The DBMCS oversees multi-channel digital communications, supports events, and does photography, videography and editing.
This role works a hybrid schedule with at least 3 onsite days required in our Portland office.

Here's what you will do:
- Research and stay current on the social and digital marketing landscape, trends and opportunities to serve the business.
- Ensures marketing efforts are infused with thoughtful, impactful digital activations that are aligned with the brand, achieve creative excellence, and are providing exceptional experiences to engage, build trust and grow OGC audiences.
- Creates and maintains the editorial calendar for digital content laddering back to marketing strategy.
- Collaborates with coworkers and suppliers to produce dynamic digital content including photos, videos, field reporting and on-farm photography.
- Writes, creates, and edits content and visuals for social media, website and some blog content.
- Manages website creative and content updates.
- Manages and grows OGC's social communities on social channels and tracks and reports on analytics.
- Contributes to Social Media Strategy and Annual Plan with VP and Communications Manager.
- Supports execution of customer-facing events, farm tours, trade shows, and demos in collaboration with the Brand Experience & Marketing Communications Specialist and Sales leadership.
- Manages special projects as needed.
- Supports OGC sustainability goals and actively works to reduce environmental impact.
- 4-6+ years of digital and social media writing; food/agriculture writing experience preferred, and a true passion for brand and educational storytelling.
- Experience managing social media channels, including capturing and formatting photos and using several social media management platforms.
- Experience with social media dashboards and knowledge of social media best practices.
- Creative project management, event planning and organization, including creative visioning and collaboration with a team on execution to deliver on strategic goals within scope, budget and timeline.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and working knowledge of content management systems.
- Able to work within SEO framework; demonstrated success using optimization to harness organic search.
- Photography and videography proficiency including retouching and editing.
- Must be flexible to support OGC business needs and mission. May be assigned projects and/or other duties outside of normal job functions to meet the needs and demands of the business.
- Excellent team player who thrives on brainstorming in groups and appreciates working collaboratively and independently.
- Has an eye for appropriate language and references regarding food/ag trends and issues within the industry.
- Experience in Sprout Social, Constant Contact and social digital platforms including managing paid promotions.
- Content layout proficiency in Canva or similar tools.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of organic produce is desired.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to sit for long periods of time, hear and converse over the telephone, in person and on a computer. Requires the ability to accurately receive and disseminate information to maintain and enhance relationships. Requires the ability to travel and occasional overnight travel. Standing, stooping, and bending are required. Ability to meet the above description of position with or without reasonable accommodation.
