The Dietary Cook will prepare meals that meet special dietary needs, and also ensure that our facility's food safety and sanitation guidelines are met. A successful candidate will be flexible and accommodating, have a passion for food preparation and take direction from other team members.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, cook and present food and beverages in accordance with the Dining Room Standards and Dietary Services guidelines and in support of daily operations of the department.
- Prepare, cook and present food that is appealing and appealing to residents every day.
- Adapt recipes to accommodate dietary needs of any individual.
- Follow the proper method of food preparation and handling.
- Document the preparation and presentation of food in accordance with the guidelines established by the Department.
- Be able to take direction from Principal Dietitian without becoming upset.
- Handle resident complaints concerning food and beverage service without becoming argumentative or defensive.
- Be able to carry a term's worth of his or her own resident's meals in one trip; be physically fit; be able to work in a busy, loud environment while maintaining positive attitude.
- Be able to work with other dietary staff members.
