Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals according to dietary guidelines and restrictions
- Ensure that all food is prepared in a safe and sanitary manner
- Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency in meal preparation
- Collaborate with the dietary team to plan menus and accommodate special dietary needs
- Maintain inventory of food supplies and notify supervisor when items need to be restocked
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Provide excellent customer service to residents or patients
Skills:
- Strong culinary skills with experience in food production and meal preparation
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment and utensils used in a commercial kitchen setting
- Ability to follow recipes and portion control guidelines accurately
- Excellent time management skills to ensure meals are prepared on schedule
- Attention to detail in food presentation and plating
- Understanding of dietary restrictions and ability to accommodate special dietary needs
- Experience working in a hospital or nursing home setting is a plus
