The Dietary Aide is responsible for serving Café customers, performing cash handling, food preparation, cleaning and stocking, and other duties as necessary to support operations of the Food & Nutrition Services Department.
Duties:
- Completes kitchen and cafeteria prep work as assigned.
- Demonstrates exceptional customer service and works cafeteria counter/line.
- Observes and records holding temperature of foods.
- Observes & records temperature of refrigerators and freezers.
- Handles cash and works Point of Sale System.
- Reconciles cash drawer.
- Prepares for efficient operations of cafeteria.
- Stocks supplies.
- Assists in dish areas as requested.
- Participates in department meeting and in-service education for personal growth and department improvement.
- Must communicate orally with dietary staff, patient, and families.
- Possesses knowledge of Continuous Quality Improvement principles and supports the hospital's philosophy of performance improvement.
- Must have demonstrated ability to interact positively with Administration, Directors, Managers, Supervisors, peers, co-workers, subordinates, patients and visitors.
- Must meet regular attendance standard and must stay at or below average sick leave utilization levels.
- HS Diploma or GED is required.
- Current Food & Beverage Worker's Permit required.
- A minimum of one (1) year of previous food service experience is preferred.
