Who you are:
- Valid Washington State Food Handler's Permit
- Previous experience in nursing home food service preferred.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple math. Ability to understand simple measurements and conversions.
- Ability to plan and organize work, set up trays and plates in accordance with diet orders and interpret specifications and standards.
- Ability to work in close cooperation with our residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor and peers. Requires empathy for older adults.
General Summary:
The Dietary Aide is responsible for preparing and serving therapeutic diet trays to health center residents in accordance with posted therapeutic diet menus.
Essential Job Duties:
- Prepare therapeutic desserts and salads as required.
- Serve meals in our health center.
- Set up tables in the health center dining room and breaks down same after the meal.
- Transport hot and cold foods to and from the health center
Other Duties:
- Maintains station equipment and work area in a safe and sanitary condition.
- Maintains acceptable standards of personal hygiene and complies with department dress code.
- Attends in-service training and educations as assigned.
- Performs other specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
