Ability to work in difficult client situations to assist in the nutrition department. Nutrition Technicians must be able to supervise meal groups and possess knowledge of appropriate nutrition for clients struggling with eating disorders. Must have the ability to work as part of a treatment team and knowledge of mental health issues that relate to disordered eating. Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to set firm boundaries with clients.

Schedule: Monday - Thursday 11:00am - 7:00pm & Friday - 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Compensation:

• Full-time employees have the ability to earn $31,000 - $41,000 annually.

Requirements:

• Studied Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field.
• Clean legal record
• Preferred experience with eating disorder clients on an inpatient or outpatient setting.

Responsibilities:

• Attend and facilitate supervised meal groups & snacks, ensuring that clients are plated appropriately according to their individual meal plan, as designated by their RD.
• Create a sample plate at each meal, and supervise and support clients before, during, and after mealtimes.
• Supplement clients appropriately when meal/snack is incomplete and log & record supplement accordingly.
• Check and maintain fridge/freezer temperature logs daily in the main kitchen and storage areas.
• Track food inventory and inform RD/cook of items needing to be replaced.
• Ensure all food items are labeled with appropriate exchanges and expiration dates.
• Maintain organization of pantry & food storages, and regularly check expiration dates of foods in the pantry and food storage areas, in consistency with food safety guidelines.
• Supervise clients when not in groups, including monitoring bathroom usage when indicated.
• Support Recovery Counselors in kitchen cleanliness & maintenance, food storage, and clean up after meals.
• Assist in the facilitation and support of the Cooking Group and Nutrition Group as needed & designated per RD.
• Obtain client vital signs as delegated by RD (at outpatient facilities) and alert RD of any concerns.
• Assist in weekly grocery shopping as delegated by RD. Check-in with RD for specific grocery/house needs.
• Attend weekly staff meetings and collaborate with staff on client care observations.
• Perform other work-related functions as deemed necessary by the Registered Dietitians or Clinical Directors.
