Outbound Operations Manager
How You Will Make a Difference
What you will do:
This position manages all outbound distribution operations for Dickies . The Outbound Operations Manager orchestrates the efficient flow of shipments to customers, ensuring the quality, accuracy and timeliness of deliveries. Provides leadership and manages performance across three shifts of operation, seven days a week. Promotes company values, including respect, teamwork, and a culture of continuous improvement. Actively participates in long and short term planning as a key member of the distribution senior management team.
How you will do it:
In this role, the Outbound Operations Manager plans required outbound activity by considering multiple business performance factors (ie: open orders and staged shipments reports, carrier schedules, customer priorities, expedited freight requirements, department productivity and back-log, etc.). Constantly works to maximize shipping accuracy, on-time delivery, and service-to-cost ratios. Assigns work load to shift managers/supervisors so the outbound shipping requirements are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.
What success looks like:
Strong communication between this position and with other departments of their shifts and the Supervisors and Leads will be required.

Skills for Success
The Outbound Operations Manager is required to have a minimum of a 4 year degree; Operations Management, Logistics/Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
Responsible for the daily activity and performance of all Outbound Operations associates.
Provides guidance and coaching as required. Interviews and makes hiring decisions.
Establishes performance standards and ensures quality training plans.
Partners with Human Resources on all associate issues.
Works with groups outside distribution to resolve issues (customer service, carriers, customs, etc)
Monitors, tracks and resolves shipping concerns, driving issues to problem resolution.
Develops improved procedures for Outbound Operations. Partners with Engineering and IT staff to assess operations and to identify opportunities for improvement.
Ensures OSHA regulations are followed and provides a clean and safe work environment for all associates.
Enforces company polices in a firm, fair and consistent manner.
Oversees safe-guarding of company equipment. Partners with maintenance staff to ensure the serviceability of conveyor and rolling stock equipment.
Drive decisions that will contribute to the financial success of the distribution department.
To hold the highest level of professionalism and integrity in every action performed on behalf of Dickies .
To use good judgment whenever necessary to ensure all decisions are made in the best interest of Dickies and its associates.
Responsible for communications with supervisors and other key personnel between shifts as well as within a shift.
Ten years' experience in high volume warehousing and distribution operations.
Demonstrated track record of career progression, consistently attaining more managerial
responsibility and supervisory experience.
Demonstrated leadership competency.
Possesses strong desire to provide high-quality service to end customer/consumer.
Prior experience in a start-up and/or turn-around situation is valuable.
Ability to develop/implement efficiency programs to improve productivity and lower costs.
Strong problem-solving and decision making skills.
Familiarity with domestic and international shipping methods and regulations.
Familiarity with Transportation regulations and processes
Support transportation, customs compliance on inquires, C-TPAT, and International shipping documentations, as needed
Familiarity with engineered standards programs
Ability to derive and utilize mathematical models.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Physical Demands:
Stand and/or walk during shift between 8 to 12 hours
Lift, push, pull and move boxes up to 50 pounds
Bend, squat, twist, reach above the head, kneel, crouch and/or stretch
Engage in full manual dexterity in both hands, wrists and feet coordination for
operation of Order Picker style Powered Industrial Truck
Noise level varies and can be loud

Hiring Range : $78,400.00 USD - $98,000.00 USD annually
Incentive Potential : This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
