Job description

The DevOps Engineer must be able to meet the key criteria below:
  1. Location: 100% remote
  2. Years' Experience: 5+ years
  3. Education: Bachelor's degree in an IT related field or equivalent experience
  4. Security Clearance: IBR is a federal contractor. Applicants must be able to meet the requirements to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance. NOTE: United States Citizenship is required to be eligible to obtain a Secret security clearance.
  5. Work Authorization: Must show that applicant is legally permitted to work in the United States.
  6. Employment Type: Full-Time, W-2
  7. Key Skills:
    1. Must have hands-on experience with DevSecOps tools and integration configurations
      1. Must be proficient in one or more scripting (i.e., Python, Ruby, or Shell, Bash) languages.
      2. Must have experience with end-to-end automation of CI/CD containerized pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI/CD, ArgoCD, Flux, ContainIQ, JFrog, Anchore, Falco, Sysdig, Rancher, Istio, Prometheus, EKF). The level of experience includes security checks (adherence/remediation) within each stage, automation of software builds, testing within each stage (full test lifecycle), managing both scheduled and unscheduled deployments, and monitoring.
      3. Must have strong system administrator level experience with both Windows Server and commercial Unix based Operating Systems (Red Hat Linux preferred). Experience includes hands-on use of command line and shell scripting (for Lambda functions and/or PowerShell tasks).
      4. Must have experience with deploying and maintaining Infrastructure-as-Code using declarative languages (Terraform, Ansible, Cloud Formation)
    2. Must have experience deploying and integrating AWS managed services (e.g., RDS, IAM, S3, ALBs, Xray, and Security Hub capabilities).
    3. Additional hands-on CI/CD experience with Bamboo, Splunk, Kubernetes, and/or Bitbucket.

Responsibilities
  • Work in an Agile environment as part of a full design and development team, participating in scrum ceremonies, interacting with, and supporting our customer.
  • Support the development team in deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting web applications.
  • Deploy new CI/CD workflows and improve the scope of existing ones.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for containerization and DevSecOps and provide relevant advice to team members and customers.
  • Must be able to respond to incidents and alerts towards a rational resolution.
  • Analyze and resolve issues in the development and production environments; support of environment/platform leads is expected.
  • Thoroughly document and maintain records of processes, configurations, and system changes as set forth by customer and/or IBR process directives.
  • Resolve performance bottlenecks in the infrastructure and applications; will be working with the leads of the internally developed applications as well as technical support member for COTS products.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as a DevSecOps Engineer and/or DevOps Engineer
  • Bachelor's degree in an IT related field or relevant industry level certifications and experience
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance
  • Must have experience with end-to-end automation of CI/CD containerized pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI/CD, ArgoCD, Flux, ContainIQ, JFrog, Anchore, Falco, Sysdig, Rancher, Istio, Prometheus, EKF). The level of experience includes security checks (adherence/remediation) within each stage, automation of software builds, testing within each stage (full test lifecycle), managing both scheduled and unscheduled deployments, and monitoring.
  • Must have experience deploying and integrating AWS managed services (e.g., RDS, IAM, S3, ALBs, Xray, and Security Hub capabilities).
  • Must have experience with Ansible, Puppet, or Chef as configuration management tools for maintaining and configuring servers as well as experience with change tracking processes.
  • Additional hands-on CI/CD experience with Bamboo, Splunk, Kubernetes, and/or Bitbucket.
  • Must have experience with cloud containerization concepts/methodologies as well as hands on implementation experience.
  • Must have experience with deploying and maintaining Infrastructure-as-Code using declarative languages such as Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Must have strong system administrator level experience with both Windows Server and commercial Unix based Operating Systems (Red Hat Linux preferred). Experience includes hands-on use of command line and shell scripting (for Lambda functions and/or PowerShell tasks).
  • Must be proficient in scripting (i.e. Python, Ruby, or Shell)
  • Must have experience with GitHub/GitLab account with open-source contributions and version control.
  • Experience with Java Spring Framework (Springboot)
  • Experience with Opensearch
  • Familiarity with SQL for database administration and management
  • Understanding of security best practices and the ability to implement security measure in CI/CD pipeline and infrastructure.
  • Must have experience adhering to SDLC processes.
  • Must have experience within Agile environment and Agile methodologies and DevOps principles to facilitate collaboration and continue improvement.
  • Must have strong communication skills and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Physical Demands
Position consists of sitting for long periods of time, bending, stooping, crouching, and lifting up to 20 pounds. Frequently uses hands/fingers for manipulation of keyboard and mouse.
Work Environment
Work is performed primarily indoors at a well-lit office environment. The environment is normally air conditioned, but conditions may change dependent upon circumstances. Work may need to be performed in a fast-paced environment requiring quick thinking and rapid judgements. Employee will be exposed to a wide variety of clients in differing functions, personalities, and abilities.
