Talent Space is looking for a DevOps/Site Reliability Engineer with prior work in the Automotive domain for a long term consulting opportunity in Santa Clara, CA.
Job Description:
Individuals within the Infrastructure Engineer DevOps role are responsible for the operations of secure and highly available computing platforms, servers, and networks. They, install, maintain, upgrade, and continuously improve the Institutes operating environment. They also maintain the ongoing reliability, performance and support of the infrastructure
Job Responsibilities:
Maintains, monitors, and supports the infrastructure environment and/or facilities.
Leads enterprise base work initiatives and projects.
Develops enhanced production monitoring and additional capability.
Defines improvements increased system reliability and performance.
Supports multiple systems or applications of medium to highly complex (complexity defined by size, technology used, and system feeds and interfaces) with multiple concurrent users, ensuring control, integrity, and accessibility.
Acts as the technical liaison between operations teams, engineers and architects, providing critical operational insight to upcoming implementations and strategies, including validation of ongoing solutions supportability.
Integrates solutions with other applications and platforms based on engineering requirements.
Develops new alerts and monitoring techniques based on engineering requirements.
Develops scripted solutions and automation.
Coordinates development activities with other groups.
Participates in the design, implementation, and execution of backup and disaster recovery plan for infrastructure solutions.
Skills/Qualifications:
Experience in IT Infrastructure, Linux Administration, Networking
Experience in operating large Hadoop systems and related applications
Networking skills with VLAN-tagging, port based VLAN, Firewalls, software defined networking
Experience with different cable technologies:
Fiber, Ethernet, etc.- Know How in virtualization, container based environments, storage technologies, data tiering concepts
Excellent communication and coordination skills
Experience working in large corporation, with complex network architecture across multiple continents- International experience, working with teams in DevOps model
Experience in project management preferred
Bachelors degree- 2-4 years experience
Role is 100% Onsite in SF/Bay Area.
Will require initial 2 weeks of work to travel to Germany for training and meeting with engineering team.
