 Resource Development & Communications Director

Reports to CEO

Full Time Exempt

$60K-$70k/year DOE

 

 

Purpose: The Resource Development Director will support the growth and development of SRC’s fundraising and communication goals and support the CEO with financial planning.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


Resource Development

  • Cultivate and manage donor, treatment center and sponsorship relationships.
  • Facilitate workplace campaigns and related events from start to finish.
  • Develop and implement a resource development and communications annual plan.
  • Develop and implement annual fundraising events, campaigns, and appeal letters for SRC
  • Provide ongoing and timely donor recognition and appreciation.
  • Train and manage volunteers who help with initiatives and events.
  • Manage and update donor relations data base with current and potential donors.
  • Identifies funding sources, revenue streams, social enterprise opportunities and grants for the agency and initiates outside contracts.
  • Coordinate materials needed for fund development and communications/marketing needs for outreach purposes.
  • Will manage and delegate responsibilities to the Resource Development Assistant and Marketing & Social Media Specialist.
  • Set clear performance expectations, encourage professional development, hold direct and indirect reports accountable for work duty performance and conduct regular recovery wellness plan evaluations.
  • Attend weekly and monthly SRC meetings.
  • Work well independently and in a team environment
  • All other duties as assigned.

Marketing, Communications and Outreach

  • Ensures that all Outreach and Marketing staff receives an orientation to the organization and that appropriate training is provided.
  • This position will manage and oversee the resource development program.
  • Coordinate materials needed for fund development and communications /marketing needs for outreach purposes.
  • Develops and manages marketing and outreach staff projects to include social media, newsletter, website, and all external outreach for agency.
  • Initiates and engages Community outreach with treatment centers, and other partnerships.
  • Provides oversight of print materials for marketing of SRC.
  • Coordinates contracts with Web designer, videographer and print designer companies.
  • Manages and delegates responsibilities to marketing and outreach team
  • Develops and manages select community education events for agency as related to outreach, development and marketing.
  • Develops and manages select conference exhibits for agency as related to outreach, development and marketing.
  • Creates, manages, and implements opportunities for SRC to present as speakers locally, regionally, and nationally.
  • Attends select local, regional, and national peer related committee meetings, acting as a representative for SRC, sharing information with CEO and staff where appropriate.
  • Meets regularly with marketing and outreach team to review projects and performance of social media, website and newsletter.


EDUCATION


  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required or equivalent experience.
  • Certificate of completion of the complete Peer Coach Academy within 4 months of hire date.

 


OTHER QUALIFICATIONS


  • Must be a person with lived experience with substance use disorder. Must have a sustained recovery of five years or more.
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience, cultivating partnerships through B2B and community outreach activities preferred.
  • 3-5 years of marketing and outreach with a proven track record of growing a business preferred.
  • 3-5 years of fund and/or resource development AND nonprofit experience preferred.
  • Experienced in DonorPerfect (or equivalent donor database) and Constant Contact.
  • Experienced in creating and managing spreadsheets through Excel.
  • Experienced in Canva and/or other graphics/presentation applications.
  • Experience in Google for Non-Profits preferred.
  • Self-Starter and fast learner.
  • Capable of thinking outside the box.
  • Excellent verbal written and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate an awareness of critical substance use disorder recovery paths.
  • Must be willing to learn and support things such as Recovery Oriented Systems of Care, Trauma Informed Services and Motivational Interviewing.
  • Performs job duties and responsibilities in a professional manner at all times, and complies with the Code of Ethics, standards and agency norms established for the profession as set forth by Serenity Recovery Connection and the Association of Fund-Raising Professionals.
  • Works well independently and in a team environment.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • High comfortability with computer-based programs and able to enter and retrieve data utilizing SRC’s computer system application, printers or other office equipment, ZOOM and telephone systems.
  • Must have reliable transportation to travel for work related activities. Insurance and valid Driver License required.
