Bluebird Education Network is the non-profit operator of Clay Hill Public Charter School and Patterson Park Public Charter School. This is a part-time position with a work schedule of 20 hours a week, and some evening and/or weekend hours on occasion.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Development and Communication Assistant works closely with the Executive Director, Director of Development and Marketing, Senior Manager of Finance and primary responsibility is to assist with the implementation and management of Bluebird Education Network’s Executive, Development and Marketing, and Finance Departments

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

FUNDRAISING:

· Manage and execute annual giving appeals, gift giving process, donor acknowledgements and donor database

· Serves on special events committee(s) and support fundraising events as necessary

· Attend PPPCS, Clay Hill, and Bluebird Education Network events and activities, and foster pride and excitement in team members

· Embody and support the organization’s mission, vision, and values, including commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion

COMMUNICATIONS:

· Draft content for various external communications.

· Draft and edit meeting agendas for Network Team Meetings and Board of Director Meetings

· Draft email requests and follow-ups for Executive, Development and Marketing, Finance Departments

ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT:

· Manage record keeping for the Board of Directors, and Executive, Development and Marketing, Finance Departments

· Manage calendar requests for Executive Director

· Support the planning and logistics of Network-wide Professional Development

· Be responsive and timely in completing requests from stakeholders throughout the organization

· Assist with additional projects and perform other duties as needed

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills. Demonstrated ability to successfully manage tasks and projects with competing priorities and demands

· Flexibility and adaptability. Ability to respond quickly to changes, priority shifts, and requests

· Exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills

· Basic prospecting and cultivation skills

· Ability to read, understand, and summarize relative education and community literature

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

· Two years of experience working in an administrative role. Prior experience working in education or non-profit environment is highly preferred

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED

· Proficiency with Google Documents and Microsoft Office Suite

· Basic database (CRM) management skills
