As Dev/Research Engineer with the Large Power Systems Division you will serve as an experienced contributor on projects and assignments that are complex in nature and that support and enhance Company product performance, durability, reliability, quality, and serviceability. This will entail working with Core Components design engineers to understand the project requirements, developing simulation plans, and completing/managing the execution of these projects. You will partner with and provide technical guidance to global teams. You will continually learn and stay abreast of innovative technology. You will also continue to grow your professional network.

Typical Day: -

Candidate filling this position will be responsible for leading and execution of Dynamics simulation and structural analysis (FEA) projects related to valvetrain and injectortrain components and systems.

- Perform design of experiment studies and product optimization simulations.

- Workload will include working with process partners to define the needs for simulation related to a mixture of new product development, current product problem resolution, and cost reduction projects.

- Document analysis objectives, conclusions, results, and assumptions.

- Interpret analysis results and communicate recommendations for design improvement.

- Gain expertise in this area and take on more responsibility in leading projects.

- Perform complex analysis work, identify, and solve problems.

- Keep up to date on new technologies and/or develop new technologies.

- The engineer in this position will be responsible for execution of simulation projects and for communicating results to the requesting process partners.

Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accredited Engineering plus 5-7 years of experience

Technical Skills: **Required: Knowledge/experience with Engine dynamics and vibrations.

**Desired: 2-3 years of Internal Combustion engines experience.

Experience in running large scale optimization analysis using platforms like ABAQUS ISight or Siemens HEEDs.

Soft Skills: A self-starter with strong technical leadership skills. Excellent analytical skills. Ability to work on increasingly more complex assignments. Ability to communicate technical information effectively with team members and others in work group, as well as employees in other units, customers, and suppliers.
