Job Duties:

• Maintain the safety and security of all personnel, inmates, and the Detention Center.
• Process inmates in and out of the facility.
• Applies and removes restraints from inmates.
• Be able to convey concise communication and give directions to inmates in your care.
• Perform facility searches and inmates searches as prescribed by the county policy.
• Supervise inmate workers within the secured facility.

Qualifications:

• Successful Detention Officers need to have the ability to handle uncertainty, the ability to process information quickly, the ability to weigh evidence with intuition and take action in a timely manner.
• Be resilient! Able to learn from mistakes, setbacks, or failures.
• Be available to work any shift to meet the needs of an ever-evolving demanding schedule.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Demonstrate the ability to complete any required training.
• Must be able to pass a physical and a background check.
• Must have a valid driver license.
• Cannot have any domestic violence or felony charges.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.56 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
