Position Overview
You can play a critical role in the success of PNC as a member of our Retail Bank Operations team. You'll help drive crucial behind-the-scenes functions for many lines of business. This includes essential items such as managing the cash needs of our branch and ATM networks, protecting the bank from potential fraud, and identifying ways to continually improve our processes. As a Detection and Investigation Analyst within Retail Bank Operations, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA.
This position is primarily based in a location within PNC's footprint. Preferred locations are listed in this requisition. Responsibilities require time in the office or in the field on a regular basis.
Pin Fraud receive disputes from the customer claiming fraud on their account, after that it's the merchant responsibility to disprove the fraud. PIN Fraud looks into fraudulent transactions that are done at the ATM either by a deposit or a withdrawal. As well as receiving POS disputes fraudulently using their PIN at the merchant. Once disputes are received by analyst we will perform a thorough investigation using multiple applications to decide whether we will pay the claims or deny the case per regulations/policies/procedures. After investigation analyst will notate cases and send letters out to customer informing of the dispute resolutions. There is various ancillary functions analyst will learn after learning the disputes process.
Job Description
  • Participates in reviewing and investigating customer cases, reports, and work for potential and actual loss; minimizes fraud, AML and/or organizational risk. Responsible for early detection of suspicious activity, control and prevention of losses.
  • Under supervision, researches and analyzes bank activities and reports to detect and prevent possible fraudulent and illegal activities. Escalates issues as appropriate.
  • Uses defined research procedures to identify and resolve issues.
  • Follows standards and practices to mitigate fraud, AML and other risk exposure and loss.
  • Prepares and maintains appropriate documentation of analysis performed and coordinates with internal or external stakeholders as appropriate.

Problem Solving - Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
Standard Operating Procedures - Knowledge of and ability to design, implement and evaluate standard operating procedures affecting daily and strategic business operations in order to increase operational efficiency.
Work Experience
Roles at this level typically do not require a university / college degree, high school diploma or GED, but do require related experience or product knowledge to accomplish primary duties. Typically requires 1+ years of related experience. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
