Job Description

Job Title: Desktop Support Technician   Location: Des Moines, IA Duration: 12 Months

Looking for a Desktop Support Technician as part of the IVRS IT Help Desk. This is an onsite position.
This position will serve IVRS staff by providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 to IVRS staff and leadership. The work includes troubleshooting technical issues, communicating with non-technical users, and escalating issues where appropriate. This position will also assist in installing software, imaging computers, and other related tasks as assigned. This role will work closely with others in IT. Communication will be essential to execute work in a timely manner.

Required Skills:

4 years of relevant experience and preferred education of 2 year degree or equivalent technical study

Experienced in PC (desktop/laptop/thin client) support – both desk side and remotely

Windows 7/10 installation, patching, and troubleshooting

Ability to troubleshoot issues with Microsoft 2019

Windows networking TCP/IP Configuration and troubleshooting

Escalate issues to next-level support and or management accordingly

Ability to troubleshoot issues with Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome

Demonstrated experience providing support with remote tools

Ability to install and troubleshoot issues with a variety of in-house developed and 3rd party software

Troubleshoot desktop and network printers issues

Experienced in Google Workspace products

Experience in support of the Microsoft Office 365 of products

Experience in Apple device support (iPad, iPhone)

Thorough understanding of Microsoft Active Directory – client side

Experience with hard drive encryption – preference for Bitlocker and McAfee

Ability to modify system registry

Industry certification (A+, Network+, MCP, etc)
