This is a full-time, on-site position located in New York, NY. M-F from 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM. No relocation assistance. Salary range: $70,000-$75,000 plus bonus but negotiable.
Who We Are Looking For:
Lead design for Kids Apparel. Assess the Kids market to develop trend presentations and design key items. Manage product development process for Kids items. Partner with cross-functional partners and designers.
Who You Are:
- Research trends by shopping the market, analyzing forecasting, and conducting market comparisons - be able to spot trends and apply them to our market.
- Create trend presentations throughout the season to present new ideas as they appear in the market.
- Sketch, create tech sheets, render in 3D, and maintain CAD development for Mens areas.
- Communicate and partner with internal departments (sample room, product development teams, technical teams) on sample development.
- Track samples and strike offs to ensure accurate and on time sample development.
- Collaborate and support cross functional teams (Sales, Design, Merchandising, Technical and Product Development) to ensure style, quality and price meet development objectives.
- Adhere to calendar deadlines.
- Understand the process of fabric development through market research and attending textile shows.
Education/Experiences:
- Bachelor’s degree in fine arts or Art or Fashion Design or related field
- 2-4 years of experience
- Knowledgeable in Mens Apparel design, knits and wovens and 3D presentations
- Working knowledge of Mac-based Adobe, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat Pro, and Office 360 programs
- PLM Systems and 3d Software experience is a plus
- Knowledge of apparel design and product development.
- Experience working with artwork and graphics.
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent Illustrator skills, and proficiency in Photoshop
- Working knowledge of patternmaking and technical design
- Working knowledge of screen printing, novelty techniques, and sublimation
- Background in Kids a plus
- Knowledge of fabrics and 3D design a plus
- Team player and problem solver
