As Gannett Fleming continues to grow and expand, we are looking for a talented Dams and Hydraulics Designer to support our Dams and Hydraulics team.
As a Dams and Hydraulics Designer, you will need to be a driven, motivated designer with practical knowledge in water resources and dam engineering, in addition to a passion for engineering analysis, design and computer modeling. You must be able to write effectively and work in a team-oriented environment.
You will also review project site conditions, implement engineering analysis and design methods, and provide technical assistance to staff and clients for a wide variety of water resources projects.
Responsibilities:
- Support analysis and design for water resource projects including new dams, dam rehabilitation, and flood control projects as well as hydraulic structures
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic computer modeling and similar engineering calculations
- Conduct field reviews of project sites to assess existing conditions
- Provide technical support for design projects and studies including support for more specialized projects involving safe yield studies, fish passage, stream restorations, and bridge scour studies
- Prepare technical reports and present findings to clients
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Civil Engineering
- 1-5 years of experience
- Registered Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or sitting for EIT exam within next six months
- Experience with general engineering computer software and applications such as GIS applications, computer programming, AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Microsoft Office
- Ability to prepare drawings, design reports, and other engineering deliverables
