Our Architectural Designers are the very first and most important step in the client journey. 

 

About the Role:

As a residential Architectural Designer at Millhaven you will be responsible for conceptualizing designing and overseeing the development of residential and construction projects. You will work closely with clients to understand their needs and their preferences translating them into functional and visually pleasing architectural designs. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of design excellent technical skills and a deep understanding of building codes and regulations. They also should possess the ability to work in collaboration with teams and communicate effectively.

 

Primary Focus:

  • Working directly with clients and gain an understanding of their lifestyle needs, requirements, overall style and vision for their custom home. 
  • Oversee the production of all project drawings, including notes, details, dimensions, electrical plans, elevations, sections, and roof plans.
  • Collaborate with the Millhaven team for Interior Design, Construction capabilities, and costs estimates.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets and resources effectively.
  • Manage multiple clients simultaneously.
  • Ensure designs comply with building codes zoning laws and regulations. Coordinate with engineers contractors and other key members of the team throughout the design and construction process.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices in residential architecture.
  • Review project progress and address any design issues or challenges that may arise along the way.
  • Visit ongoing job sites to see work in project and develop better practices for future designs.

 

Technical Expertise:

  • Proficient in design software like AutoCAD, Revit, and Lumion, using them to create high-quality architectural drawings and visualizations.
  • Possess a strong understanding of architectural principles, building codes, and construction methods.
  • Ability to translate client ideas into technically sound and aesthetically pleasing designs.


Communication and Collaboration:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, effectively collaborating with clients, team members, and external subcontractors.
  •  Ability to clearly articulate design concepts and technical details.
  • Strong presentation skills to showcase design proposals and answer client questions.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience as an Architectural Designer.
  • Proven experience leading projects from start to finish.
  • Portfolio of past plans and experience.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Lumion.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with strong time management skills.
  • Passion for architecture and a commitment to client satisfaction.
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Passion for continuous growth and knowledge as it relates to your position.
