Design Engineer
The Design Engineer is an individual who can take customer requirements for custom designed industrial equipment and turn them into working models and drawings from which vendors, suppliers, and internal customers can build the machine.
Design Engineer responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Developing machine concept models in support of the Sales / quoting effort.
- Producing production models from concept models, customer / team requirements, and in support of production requirements.
- Using software to analyze motion and stresses in order to size components such as structure, motors, bearings, and gearboxes.
- Drafting: Taking models / assemblies and detailing them out on 2-D drawings for use by production personnel and purchasing for fabrication and quoting purposes.
- Contacting vendors to obtain current models to be used in 3-D modelling.
- Contacting vendors to get component specifications / quotes.
- Making drawing revisions as required to reflect customer changes.
- Input / posting of engineering data into Contech purchasing system.
- Participating in design review / project status conference calls with the customer.
- Provide assistance to mechanical and controls engineers as needed.
Required Design Engineer skills
- 5 years minimum experience.
- Ability to use SolidWorks and associated add-on software.
- A general understanding of controls integration.
- A team player who can also work independently.

Salary: Commensurate with experience.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
