Responsible for providing AutoCAD drafting / design support to the Pre-Construction Specialists and Regional Pre-Construction Project Managers for Prototype and Remodel projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary Responsibilities after Real Estate Site Approval:
- Under supervision, prepare Site Plans and coordinate with the Merchandising team on fixture layouts to ensure the plans meet the intent of the "approved" site or fixture plans prior to the Pre-Construction Review Meeting.
- Assist the Sr. Design Drafters and Pre-Construction Specialist in working to obtain all municipal and governing agency approvals, ensuring code compliance with all required authorities.
- Produce all architectural required drawings, as well as assist the Sr. Design Drafters and Pre-Construction Specialist with the management of the various consulting engineers (Structural, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, etc.) to ensure AutoZone standards are maintained prior to submittal to the various municipal approving agencies.
- Prepare dry utility drawings to ensure our electrical, telephone and natural gas services reflect the utility companies design intent.
- Prepare Design Exchange bid packages and ensure engineered construction drawings and bid documents are accurate and provided to the Construction department.
Primary Responsibilities after Construction Starts:
- Assist the Sr. Drafters and Pre-Construction Specialist ensuring any drawings which have been modified, as a result of issues encountered while under construction are issued to the Construction team as a Revision.
- Ensure all the latest drawings and documents are archived properly per AutoZone standards after the store opens.
Additional General Department Responsibilities:
- Provide proper specifications and documentation to the Support team for any non-standard AFI items as required.
- Incorporate all exterior sign locations and sizes, provided by the National Sign Manager, are reflected in the construction drawings.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED:
- Completion of formal AutoCAD training program
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and MS Project
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure
- Effective time management skills
- Must possess critical thinking and decision-making skills
