Form of workLasko Products, an industry leader of home environment products for over 100 years, is seeking a Design Assurance Engineer to work from our corporate headquarters in West Chester, PA.
The Design Assurance Engineer will focus on building quality and safety into products on the front end of the development process. The role will be responsible for ensuring all new product meet the Lasko quality and Safety requirements through qualification test plans, FMEA’s and design reviews. The team will follow the product through production and coordinate annual quality reviews to identify quality improvement opportunities that will then be coordinated through the Engineering and site quality teams.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Partner with Engineering and Manufacturing early in the design stage in order to build quality into the product design and manufacturing process.
- Develops, coordinates and conducts technical reliability studies and evaluations of engineering design concepts.
- Develops and trains team on new and existing test procedures that are required to qualify product designs.
- Identifies, recommends, and/or implements design or test methods, test fixture development, and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product reliability.
- Requirement development throughout the product development phases, ensuring testability in all levels of requirements.
- Lead and/or participate in design verification and design validation for new products and modifications to existing products.
- Completes risk analysis (e.g., DFMEA, UFMEA, RAD) and studies of new design and processes.
- Compiles and analyzes performance reports and process control statistics; investigates and analyzes relevant variables potentially affecting product and processes.
- Analyzes preliminary plans and develops reliability engineering programs to achieve company and customer reliability objectives.
- As necessary, proposes changes in design to improve system and/or process reliability.
- Serve as a Design Quality Assurance reviewer/approver on design control documents, specifically those associated with product testing and characterization
- Own the Product Start Authorization (PSA) process and approval by working with engineering to ensure all open qualification testing, documentation and action items are closed out prior to the PSA release.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineer or related field
- Minimum of 5 Years of Experience in leading large quality teams
- Comprehensive understand of the DMAIC process and New Products Six Sigma
- Strong ability to develop talent
