Deputy
Full-time PERMANENT $25.34/hour plus benefits
Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office is currently accepting applications for the position of Deputy. POST certified is preferred. Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office consists of 7 sworn officers, to include Undersheriff and Sheriff. Our office is proactive in the community, has up to date equipment, and send staff to trainings and conferences.
The Deputy position currently pays approximately $25.34/hour. There is an annual uniform allowance, health insurance benefits, retirement, and longevity pay. Opportunities for overtime exist.
Sheridan County has roughly 3,300 people spread across 1,700 square miles. The largest town and county seat is Plentywood, Montana. There are three other incorporated towns in Sheridan County. Sheridan County borders Canada, North Dakota, and the Fort Peck Reservation. Sheridan County has outdoor recreation to include hunting, fishing, boating, and golfing. Sheridan County is rural but still within 1.5 hour drive of larger towns to include Sidney, MT, Williston, ND, and Regina, Saskatchewan.

Applicants with Montana P.O.S.T. certification and/or experience are encouraged to apply and will be considered first.
Application process: Applicants must submit a Standard Application for Peace Officer in the
State of Montana and a Release of Liability form for a background investigation. Applicants should include copies of any certifications and licenses in the application packet, including a copy of your valid driver’s license. Successful applicants chosen for an oral interview will be notified by telephone and in writing, and will be required to demonstrate their physical fitness ability by providing current proof of successful completion scores from the Montana Physical Abilities Test (MPAT) or participating in a physical fitness test before or after the oral interview.
