Job Position: Deputy General Counsel V
Company: 807 HEALTH CARE AUTHORITY

• Reports to the General Counsel and provides legal advice to the agency and board
• Represents OHCA in administrative and judicial proceedings
• Principal contact in the absence of the General Counsel
• Plans, organizes, and supervises activities
• Acts as liaison to the SoonerSelect Operations team
• Handles in-house counsel needs and general program questions
• Develops, prepares, and presents agency before administrative proceedings
• Performs litigation duties in State and Federal Court
• Advises on complex legal issues involving SoonerSelect and compliance
• Makes presentations to agency management, OHCA Board, and legislative staff
• Analyzes record requests involving legal matters
• Acts as liaison to the legislature on select issues
• Manages staff performance and development
• Mentors and develops attorneys at different levels

Travel: Occasional basis
Supervisory Responsibilities: Includes supervisory duties
Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree
• Juris Doctorate Degree from ABA accredited Law School
• Minimum of eight years of legal practice experience
• Active Member of the State Bar of Oklahoma

Preference May Be Given to Candidates With:

• Litigation experience
• Relevant legal and/or administrative experience
• Background in health care administration or insurance
• Advanced education and certifications
• Computer research & case management software experience
• Senior level administrative experience at OHCA
• Legal experience at OHCA

Physical Demands:

• Ability to sit for prolonged periods and work on a computer
• Ability to move or lift up to 15 pounds
