Description
Efficiently performs skilled clerical work providing a variety of advanced administrative support for the Clerk of Circuit Court utilizing strong organizational skills. Work is performed under general supervision. Candidate must be detail oriented, able to meet strict timelines daily, motivated, possess excellent customer service skills and possess the ability to multitask.
- Receive and verify all documents for recording on the court’s deed book; Must maintain keen knowledge of recordation statutes utilizing the Code of Virginia and guidelines from the Supreme Court of Virginia and other legal resources; Scan and index records.
- Reconcile daily collections of all recording taxes and fees; Process customer requests; Assist customers in research of public records such as deeds, plats, etc. with a high degree of customer service in an efficient, courteous, and timely manner.
Thorough knowledge of standard office practices, procedures and equipment and demonstrated ability to utilize word-processing, worksheet analysis and desktop publishing software; Thorough knowledge of Business English and ability to type various correspondence and assume responsibility for correct spelling, punctuation and format; Ability to relate to and knowledgably deal with the general public, staff, attorneys and government agencies both orally and in writing, tactfully and in a professional and efficient manner; Ability to work under pressure; Ability to establish priorities for completing assignments and work with a minimum of supervision and high level of accuracy.
Education and experience equivalent to an associate degree in the legal or business field or equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge. Experience in Records Management or Paralegal Studies preferred.
