Schedule:3rd Shift
Valence Surface Technologies production is open 24 hours per day. All shifts are as follows: 1st shift (Monday - Friday, 5:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.), 2nd shift (Monday - Friday, 1:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.), 3rd Shift (Sunday - Friday, 9:00 p.m. - 5:30 a.m.)
Essential Functions:
- Safety conscious and always looking for preventative safety measures Understands the Valence Surface Technologies Code of Conduct policy, leading by example.
- Organizes assigned area to ensure ready access to and knowledge of all orders currently in process on a daily work basis.
- Effectively communicates with customer service regarding work that is in the area or coming to the area for processing.
- Maintains the shop in an orderly 5S and well-kept manner.
- Operates within established safety, quality, and financial guidelines.
- Keeps current on project and overall shop performance, understands and monitors department budget, works with manager to resolve problems and plans for improvements.
- Works closely with Production Management and supervisors on other shifts/departments to determine daily, weekly, and monthly work schedules Maintains schedule and reassigns labor as workloadchanges.
- Knows what needs to be done on a daily basis to keep the work moving through the production process.
- Executes schedule with a sense of urgency, and with sincere concern for safety, quality, timeliness, and cost consciousness.
- Maintains and monitors appropriate documentation on all orders.
- Effectively supervises employees in the shop.
- Organizes work to be done and assigns accordingly, follows dashboard requirements while working with customer service to exceed customer expectations
- Communicates with employees regularly and seeks their input on issues in regard to problem solving.
- Clarifies responsibility and expected results.
- Delegates responsibility to employees where appropriate.
- Gives adequate direction, counsels employees on performance issues/concerns, provides assistance and/or training where appropriate.
- Initiates disciplinary actions where necessary according to established procedures.
- Works with manager and human resources to resolve problems as needed.
- Trains employees and monitors their performance on Valence Surface Technologies safety procedures and proper Valence techniques for all production processes and movement of materials in/out/around the shop.
- Understands and ably performs (and ensures that others understand and can perform) appropriate and safe techniques for lifting and maneuvering materials in various stages of completion.
- Understands and institutes the methods needed to get the work done in a timely and efficient manner.
- Resolves technical problems and challenges by involving the appropriate people in order to keep production moving, to meet/exceed customer expectations.
- Participates in improvement teams, Gemba walks, and meetings as requested.
- Participates in continuous process improvement activities always looking for new ways to do the job with eye to reducing cost, streamlining processes, and increasing throughput.
- Keeps current on industry trends, innovations, and changes that may affect production operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
- Basic mathematic skills: add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals and Microsoft Office experience.
- Experience working in manufacturing environment.
- Good communication skills. Leadership skills.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast paced and ever-changing environment with multiple priorities.

WorkEnvironment
Temperatures in the work environment can fluctuate with outside weather conditions. Due to the manufacturing environment, Personal Protection Equipment may be required including safety glasses, goggles, aprons, rubber boots, gloves, and a respirator (provided by Company).
