SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITY:
This position is to supervise and direct manufacturing personnel as required by the production schedule and Operations Managers.
Essential Functions:
Work includes most of the following:
- Partners with Business Unit Manager on Performance Management Process from developing reviews to conducting the meetings.
- Monitors production on all lines to verify production quality measured by waste and printer errors
- Solves and troubleshoots any production or scheduling problems
- Approves jobs for proper set-up and inspects final product measured by waste and printer errors. Medical / Postal approvals require two approvals. (Supervisor / Assistant Supervisor)
- Complete understanding of Specialty Printing’s Waste and Downtime procedure.
- Develop standard practices and provide mentorship as needed.
- Monitors, reviews and provides training to all employees on all manufacturing equipment measured by key indicators.
- Report all employee training opportunities and / or achievements to be reviewed effectively
- Monitors, reviews and provides safety training to all employees on all manufacturing equipment measured by key indicators
- Email production summary daily.
- Identify root cause of printer errors
- Identify possible production improvement opportunities (Understand and promote daily downtime and waste procedure).
- Verify data collection entries are correct
- Periodically review down time reports and implement corrective action measured by down time key indicators
- Report to shift ½ hour early each day to review production concerns / opportunities
- Attend daily meeting post shift to discuss same, not to exceed ½ hour.
- Monitor all press lines and coordinate as needed coverage to keep key lines running
- Monitor Quality Opportunity Recordings/via boards and address as needed
- Other responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Knowledge of various production methods, materials and equipment
- Knowledge of and ability to apply management principles and techniques
- Interpersonal skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to prepare reports
- Organizational ability
- Ability to analyze problems and take corrective action
- Supervisory Abilities
- Three to five years’ experience in a supervisory capacity within a manufacturing or production environment. Must complete requirements of our training program.

- Understand and observe all Company safety standards. Job involves constant use of hearing protection, work with water based inks, use of degreasers and solvents and other lubricants.

- Ability to work over eight hours in a work day, and over 40 in a work week as necessary;
- Position requires constant standing, frequent reaching, use of hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, stretching and crouching and occasional lifting of up to 75 pounds, pushing paper rolls that weigh up to 300 pounds, constant close attention to detail
- Use of close vision and fine motor skills to detect quality issues
- Occasional communication with supervisor or other employees.
- Work with moving mechanical parts with potential pinch points, cuts and crush points
- Is frequently required to use/reach with hands, fingers and arms.
- Vision abilities including close vision and the ability to adjust focus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
