Dental Hygienist

This role is an 5-Years contract assignment.
Schedule: The contractor will normally provide eight (1) hour sessions per day, 5 days per week, excluding Federal Holidays. Work hours will normally be between 07:30-4:00 PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
Job Duties
- The contractor will provide services, professional in nature, in the method as considered normal in the local community and in accordance with Accreditation Association of Ambulatory Care (AAAHC) standards and (Federal) Bureau of Prison policies. The performance of these services will also be verified by the designated COR.
- The Contractor will generally work under the supervision of staff Dentist; however, may be required to work under the supervision of the Clinical Director or a BOP mid-level practitioner.
- The contractor shall provide the following Dental Hygienist services, which include, but are not limited to, the
items listed below.
Provide dental prophylaxis, other preventive oral health services, and other periodontal services on inmates who are referred by the dental staff
Provide thorough individualized oral hygiene instructions to each patient
Monitor oral hygiene and periodontal condition on each patient seen for dental prophylaxis
Complete necessary dental x-rays as specified by the dentist
Provides oral health care services such as suture removal, administration of local anesthetic, and other services (if trained)
Sterilize instruments used for prophylaxis and other instruments as specified by the dental staff
Oversee inmate health service’s workers’ housekeeping and infection control procedures
Perform necessary paperwork related to scheduling patients for dental prophylaxis and other dental services as directed by the dental staff
Track scheduling of patient care
Ability to collect and track data and enter data in the agency’s electronic system
Must have knowledge and experience in maintaining medical records and confidentiality
Any other reasonable tasks needed by the health services unit, or assigned by supervisory staff, that is related to health services.
Knowledgeable of and follows BOP, Dental Service, and institutional policies to include Employee Standards of Conduct, security, infection control, regulated waste management, and data management

Pay: $60.00 - $65.00 per hour
