Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Perform dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and debridement.
- Take and develop dental x-rays.
- Conduct patient assessments, including reviewing medical history and vital signs.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and provide personalized recommendations.
- Assist the dentist during procedures by handing instruments and maintaining a sterile field.
- Administer local anesthesia as directed by the dentist.
- Perform dental charting and maintain accurate patient records.
- Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Valid Dental Hygiene license in [state].
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene.
- Knowledge of dental anatomy, oral health conditions, and treatment options.
- Proficiency in medical coding systems and documentation (e.g., CDT codes).
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient privacy guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Experience with dental office software (Dentrix) is preferred but not required.
