- Minimum High School diploma.
- Dental Assistant Certificate.
- Current First Aid / CPR certification.
- Dental Radiation and Safety Compliance Certificate.
- Minimum 1-2 years of related experience.
- Knowledge of filing procedures and practices.
- Demonstrated ability to exchange pertinent non-routine information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to use tact, discretion, and sensitivity when interacting with patients.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Experience in community clinic environment a plus.
- Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Korean required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides chair-side assistance to the dentist in the performance of dental procedures.
- Ensures that appropriate equipment and supplies are prepared.
- Oversees and coordinates patient flow throughout the dental visit.
- Takes radiographic films and study model impressions.
- Demonstrates knowledge in procedures for taking films and impressions.
- Keeps equipment in working order.
- Arranges all dental instruments for tray set-ups and mobile cabinets.
- Sterilizes and disinfects equipment according to OSHA, CDC, and Kheir Standards.
- Participates in educational programs, in-service meetings, and outreaches as necessary.
- Cooperates with other personnel to achieve department objectives and maintain good employee relations.
- Maintains harmonious relationship with unit/co-worker, providing support and assistance to co-workers to ensure quality patient care.
- Follows established Kheir policies and procedures, objectives, performance improvement, attendance, safety and environmental and infection control guidelines.
