Dental Assistant

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting the dentist during patient examinations and procedures. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing patients for treatment, sterilizing instruments, and ensuring a clean and organized dental environment.

Duties:
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are available
- Assist the dentist during procedures by handing them instruments, suctioning, and providing support as needed
- Take and develop dental x-rays as directed by the dentist
- Perform basic dental procedures such as applying sealants, fluoride treatments, and taking impressions
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including documenting patient information, treatments performed, and any necessary follow-up appointments
- Follow proper infection control protocols and maintain aseptic technique throughout all procedures
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and provide post-treatment instructions
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office's appointment calendar
- Assist with billing and coding procedures using Dentrix software

Experience:
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of dental anatomy and terminology
- Familiarity with medical documentation, coding, and recordkeeping practices
- Proficiency in taking dental x-rays and operating medical imaging equipment
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality requirements
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with patients of all ages
