```Duties```
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical documentation
- Follow proper aseptic technique to prevent the spread of infection
- Perform patient assessments, including taking vital signs and medical history
- Have a solid understanding of dental anatomy and terminology
- Utilize electronic health record systems such as Epic for patient charting
```Qualifications```
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of infection control protocols and practices
- Familiarity with dental assisting procedures and techniques
- Proficient in medical coding and billing practices
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy laws
- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus
