Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will work closely with our dental team to provide quality care to our patients. Your main responsibilities will include assisting with dental procedures, taking and developing dental x-rays, and ensuring the comfort of our patients throughout their visit.
Duties:
- Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary equipment is ready
- Assist the dentist during procedures by handing them instruments, suctioning, and providing support as needed
- Take and develop dental x-rays as directed by the dentist
- Perform basic laboratory duties such as pouring models and trimming temporary crowns
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions
- Maintain accurate patient records and update medical documentation as necessary
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, addressing any concerns or questions they may have
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is required
- Knowledge of dental anatomy, terminology, and procedures
- Familiarity with medical coding systems is a plus
- Experience working with pediatric patients is highly desirable
- Proficient in using dental software systems for record keeping
Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and dental team members
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism
- Knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control protocols
- Proficient in medical terminology related to dentistry
