Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting the dentist and providing exceptional patient care. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive dental practice.
ONE YEAR OF DENTAL ASSISTING REQUIRED.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all necessary instruments and supplies are ready
- Take dental x-rays
- Sterilize and maintain dental instruments
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
- Perform basic laboratory tasks such as pouring models, fabricating temporary crowns, use and maintenance of Cerec.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program
- Current CPR certification
- Knowledge of dental anatomy, terminology, and procedures
- Proficiency in medical documentation and record keeping
- Experience working with pediatric patients is preferred
- Familiarity with dental systems, including electronic health records (EHR)
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
- Knowledge of medical coding for dental procedures is a plus
- Understanding of aseptic technique and infection control protocols
