Position Summary 

Under the supervision of the Associate Registrar for Curriculum and Academic Services, the Degree Audit and Curriculum Specialist is responsible for the development and maintenance of Degree Audits each academic year based on approved program requirements and will research, troubleshoot, and correct data anomalies as required. This position analyzes course and program curriculum proposals to ensure continuity across official publications and systems. The Degree Audit and Curriculum Specialist works collaboratively with the College Advising Center, Office of Undergraduate Admissions, academic deans, and departments

 

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Coordinate the planning, development, implementation, documentation, administration, and maintenance of the Degree Audit system.
  • Analyze complex degree requirements; program the audits to reflect degree requirements, rules and policies; test and validate Degree Audits.
  • Ensure all Degree Audits are built according to established business rules.  Make recommendations as needed.
  • Maintain the academic planner.
  • Troubleshoot issues and respond to inquiries about Degree Audit functionality.
  • Process and apply all approved academic exceptions to individual student Degree Audits and records.
  • Create individualized interdisciplinary Degree Audits.
  • Create and maintain Office of the Registrar and end user manuals for Degree Audit and academic planner.
  • Maintain course record and program requirement data.
  • Review curriculum proposals in the College's curriculum management tool to identify potential issues in academic policy, student academic progression, and system requirements.
  • Participate in the maintenance of processes, forms, and user accounts.
  • Train staff and faculty on the use of the Degree Audit, academic planner, and curriculum management tools.
  • Participate in system upgrades as assigned.
  • Interpret and enforce academic policy as it pertains to curricular structure and catalog guidelines.
  • Represent the Office of the Registrar as a student marshal at one or more commencement ceremonies and participate in other commencement events as assigned.
  • Perform other related duties and/or responsibilities as assigned or required.
  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience in Degree Audit or similar college administration area, with increasing responsibility towards Degree Audit development, transfer credit evaluation, academic advising, college curriculum/course management, and/or admissions operations.
  • Must possess a thorough understanding of degree requirements, curriculum governance, and the system maintenance associated with these academic functions for all schools at the College.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience using a student information system.
  • Degree audit encoding experience in CollegeSource's uAchieve or related systems preferred.
  • Experience with DigArc's Acalog and Curriculog or related systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of admissions, registration and graduation processes and requirements.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Keen attention to detail ensuring accuracy and consistency in all work.
  • Ability to adapt effectively and quickly to changing policies and requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and work independently.
