In this role, you will play a crucial part in optimizing our plant cultivation processes as well as crop maintenance. Defoliation of cannabis refers to the removal of leaves from a marijuana plant in a voluntary and controlled way, in order to improve aeration, light penetration, or production.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct deleafing and monitor plant health.
- Optimize growing conditions.
- Maintain detailed cultivation records.
- Ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
- Follow safety guidelines.
- Contribute to continuous improvement.
- Operate cultivation equipment.
- Collaborate with the team on tasks.
Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- No prior experience required; training provided.
- Strong attention to detail
- Punctual and able to perform tasks in a timely manner.
- Proficient in repetitive tasks with precision.
- Effective communication skills.
- Personal vehicle and/or reliable transportation.
- Prior experience in cannabis cultivation or related fields is a plus.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work may require prolonged sitting, bending, stooping, and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires normal range of hearing. Requires close vision with the ability to see color and adjust focus. Lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly using safe lifting techniques.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is high-energy, fast-paced, and, due to the nature of the current regulatory landscape, often highly stressful. Work is performed in a busy cannabis nursery and cultivation facility. The facility areas are very loud due to fans and filtration systems; work areas can fluctuate between cold and hot temperatures. Cultivation technicians handle chemicals found in a crop production facility (e.g., fertilizers).
