Conexess Group is aiding a large healthcare client in their search for a DB2 System Programmer in a remote capacity. This is a long-term opportunity with a competitive compensation package.
 
Responsibilities:
Support Db2 across multiple sysplexes in stand-alone and data-sharing configurations.
Regularly applying RSUs/PTFs/APARs updates as required via SMP/E.
Manage Db2 ISV products and upgrades, including IBM Db2 Tools, Query Monitor, Omegamon, HPU, Optim, IIDR, QLIK, and others.
Work with ISV vendors as point of contact for issues.
Managing system catalogs, archive logs, image copies.
Db2 administration on z/OS, SQL creation, Db2 command line creation and execution, Db2 performance tuning.
Coordinate with DBA team on day to day tasks.
Monitoring threads, table space, index spaces, and bufferpools.
Monitoring instances for events and resolution/escalations.
Support Disaster Recovery Exercises.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of ten years of experience.
Complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices and standards related to Db2 software installation and management on System Z.
SQL coding and tuning skills.
REXX or CLIST coding.
