As a Database Developer, you will be responsible for databases and software which support Harris' Service + Building Automation group. The primary responsibility will be to work with the Data Scientist and Senior Director to design and develop custom outputs (Reports, Dashboards, Logs, and Exports), data integrations, and custom software development which directly impact Service + Building Automation operations. Additional tasks are to support the Data Scientist with data warehousing and analytics. Future tasks will consist of maintaining data structures and ensuring security of data systems in the cloud.
This role can be performed hybrid remote or fully in-office, based out of the Harris corporate headquarters in St. Paul, MN or a regional office.
System and Business Knowledge
- Develop a strong technical knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains (MS GP)
- Work with business unit subject matter experts to gain a functional understanding of how the Service + Building Automation group operates
Output Development
- Creation, maintenance, and support of MS GP Smartlists and Smartviews
- Creation of Power BI dashboards
- Ensure a high level of data availability
Custom Development
- Author code under the direction of lead Developer and peer Programmer
- Bug resolution and break/fix tasks
- Follow company software development lifecycle methodologies
- Adhere to and enforce company coding guidelines and industry best practices
- Work collaboratively in a version-controlled development environment
Data Administration
- Ability to maintain large relational data sets (SQL and other DBs)
- Proficient in standard data warehouse /data lake platforms (Snowflake, Azure)
- Monitor and audit data flow between databases and other applications
- Assist with data migration efforts
- Troubleshoot data issues
What we're looking for in you
- 2+ years of data structures and SQL experience
- 2+ years of experience diagnosing and resolving business process issues and problems.
- 2+ years of BI and other report generation experience
- 2+ years of Data Warehouse Administration experience
- Knowledge of at least one ERP system (CMIC, COINS OA, IFS, SAP, MS Dynamics, etc.)
- Bachelor's degree preferred in computer science, information technology, or related

Pay Range: $67,852 - $101,799 per year
The actual salary offer will vary by candidate based on a wide range of factors such as specific skills, qualifications, experience, andlocation.
