Database Developer (Ts/Sci + Poly)

Description

The DarkStar Group is seeking a Database Developer with a TS/SCI + Poly clearance (applicable to this customer) to join one of our top projects in McLean,VA. Below is an overview of the project, as well as information on our company, our benefits, and our $25,000 referral program.
THE PROGRAM
The DarkStar Group is a member of 100% of the winning teams for the largest technology program in the Intel Community. We've been supporting this customer on many different sub-projects of this program since our founding in 2013. THE PROJECT
The Sponsor has multiple application teams supporting a portfolio which is the central repository for all Sponsor’s created applications. The Sponsor provides state of the art systems on cloud and applications based on products such as AWS, Oracle, SharePoint, and other web-based solutions. The Sponsor requires support specializing in designing an efficient database by determining the best database management system while testing database programs for efficiency, performance, troubleshooting, and correcting issues with their knowledge of software, data integrity practices, programming languages, and other factors that go into database systems.
The portfolio contains but is not a complete list of the following:

• A custom production application that has a central repository for the search and discovery of internal document sensitive data and associated artifacts.
• A custom production application which provides workflow and research with the ability to review, disposition, build a profile and update or nominate candidates to other external Partner organizations.
• A knowledge management tool which stores products in a centralized repository making it easy for search and discovery.

THE ROLE

• The Contractor shall translate database requirements into an end-to-end design for databases that may involve multiple interfaces to other database systems.
• The Contractor shall design, develop, implement, and maintain database structures.
• The Contractor shall develop security procedures to protect databases from unauthorized usage.
• The Contractor shall develop, test, implement and maintain complex functions, scripts, stored procedures, and triggers to support application development.
• The Contractor shall ensure data quality and integrity in databases.
• The Contractor shall write interfaces to other database systems.The Contractor shall integrate modules, test, and resolve any errors.
• The Contractor shall define indexing, procedures, functions, and other parameters.
• The Contractor shall check and evaluate feasibility and costs of implementation.
• The Contractor shall document processes.
The contractor shall interact with developers to improve applications and establish best practices.

Required Skills

• Demonstrated experience proving operational and maintenance support in a production system.
• Demonstrated experience with SQL and PL / SQL queries, procedures and functions.
• Demonstrated experience with Oracle databases creating and maintaining Oracle database components of the technology stack.
• Demonstrated experience with Oracle Text Search/Indexing.
• Demonstrated experience with non-relational databases like NoSQL.
• Demonstrated experience performing system analysis.
• Demonstrated experience performing cost calculations.
• Demonstrated experience with operating systems like Windows and Linux.
• Demonstrated experience with application servers, interfaces, and various IT management tools such as DevOps.
• Demonstrated experience with front-end users requirements and problem-solving.
• Demonstrated thorough experience with creating, modifying and removing database design and data structures.
• Demonstrated thorough experience with data management such as permissions, recovery, security, and monitoring.
• Demonstrated thorough experience with designing, creating, modifying and removing database objects including tables, indexes, views, keys, stored procedures and statistics.
• Demonstrated experience applying technical design and development skills for the creation of database programs.
Demonstrated experience analyzing existing databases and data needs to develop new database architecture and systems.

• Demonstrated experience using JIRA, Confluence and SharePoint.
• Demonstrated experience providing customer service.
• Demonstrated experience briefing technical topics to a non-technical audience.
• Demonstrated experience operating within the life cycle management process when implementing changes in technology.
