What You'll Be Doing:
- Provide Technical leadership for the DBA team
- Participate in Agile planning and execution
- Work with application development staff to develop database architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures
- Share support, release, and on-call responsibilities for an always-on 24x7 site
- Support departmental operations in all environments by proactively managing the performance, integrity and security of Business Applications databases and database servers
- Create and maintain customized database reports and perform data analysis
- Test and maintain highly available and secure SQL Server database instances
- Assist in the management of the hardware and software as related to the operations of the SQL Server DBMS, including system development, maintenance, and recommendations of new hardware and software
- Maintain reliability of databases and assist in developing and implementing standards for database maintenance and configuration
- Responsible for synchronizing and migrating data and database objects between Agile development, quality assurance and production environments
- Mentor and provide support to Agile Software Applications Developer in best practices for database design, programming, and tuning
- Work as a member of the Systems team to assist in providing maximum availability and support of all SQL applications and backend
- Other duties as assigned
- Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices
- Working technical experience with designing, building, installing, configuring, and supporting database servers and cluster technology
- Experience creating Database objects (view, functions, stored procedures, triggers, indexes, etc.)
- Experience with SQL Replication and High Availability (Mirroring, Log Shipping, and others)
- Advanced Knowledge in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
- Advanced Knowledge in SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
- Advanced Knowledge with the usage of DMVs
- Hands-on database tuning and troubleshooting experience
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
- Good written and oral communication skills, as well as good interpersonal skills
- Strong technical documentation skills
- Keen attention to detail
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong customer service orientation
- Ability to conduct research into database issues, standards, and products as required
- Highly self-motivated and directed, with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Experience collaborating and consulting with users, system administrators and programmers to overcome significant operations and/or technical issues and problems
- Experience with automation of recurring DBA tasks
- Experience using Microsoft SQL server 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019 and above
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- 8 years minimum of professional experience
- Team leadership or management experience
- Exposure to AWS and Azure technologies.
- Experience coding and maintaining complicated SSIS Packages
- Penchant for automation with PowerShell, Python, or other data scripting languages a strong plus
- Experience in Cloud migration and Database services
- Experience with data processing flowcharting techniques
