Database Administrator - Contingent

The DBA will perform and support data modeling, database administration and data management activities. The DBA will work as part of a project team of data engineers, Cloud Architects, analysts, and DevSecOps Engineers developers to support a large data warehouse at a federal agency.

Responsibilities

• Function in an Agile environment.
• Perform database administration tasks independently or with direction as needed:
• RBAC and RCLS.
• User setup and access.
• DDL development and deployment.
• Performance monitoring.
• Cost optimization.
• Develop Python scripts for automation.
• Collaborate with Agile team members:
• Mentor junior DBA’s to develop their skills.
• Work with Security Officer to implement security and access control protocols.
• Work with DevSecOps resources to implement code pipelines to automate database changes.
• Work with Data Engineers to perform their functions efficiently.
• Work with data scientists and analytics developers to perform their functions efficiently.

Qualifications

• US citizen or Authorized to Work and lived in the US for 3 of the last 5 years. Must be able to obtain a U.S. Federal government client badge and pass a government Public Trust.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or similar discipline required with a minimum of 3 years of work experience or similar knowledge as normally gained through at least 7 years of directly relevant experience.
• 1+ years Agile experience, certifications preferred.
• 2+ years of DBA experience.
• 2+ years of SQL experience.
• 1+ years of Snowflake experience, preferably with certifications.
• 1+ years of AWS cloud technologies experience with Cloud platforms such as AWS is required.
• Must demonstrate excellent communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively with Agile team members.
