The TMNAS Data Warehouse Intern is an operational and functional resource role within the TMNAS IT department.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain experience across multiple areas including database coding, ETL development, Python development, and other more advanced data warehousing tools. Additionally, the candidate will gain hands on experience in analyzing business processes, technical documentation, managing change within an organization's IT systems, and practical property and casualty insurance knowledge.
Job Responsibilities
Specific job responsibilities for the intern are based on need but can include:
- Developing new and maintaining existing TSQL code.
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation.
- Analyzing business processes and automating them.
- Collecting and reporting performance metrics.
- Performance tuning of SQL queries and processes.
- Working with and developing Python scripts.
- Interacting with and presenting data from Snowflake.
- Documentation of standard operating procedures.
- Complying with proper internal controls as necessary to conduct job functions.
- Performing special projects and/or activities as may be assigned.
Degree / Licenses and Professional Certifications
- Coursework in Computer Science or Information Technology
Experience
- Basic experience working within an IT, administrative or equivalent corporate function.
Knowledge
- Knowledge of the basics of database management systems, data manipulation and data retrieval preferred
- Strong background in mathematics. Exposure to statistics or quantitative analysis a plus
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, SharePoint) and/or other general spreadsheet / word processing tools.
- Entry-level programming skills preferred
- Must be actively enrolled in an undergraduate program with a related major

- Basic database skills, including knowledge of SQL. TSQL experience a plus.
