Staff Software Engineer - Data Warehouse Infrastructure
This Data Warehouse Infrastructure product group is responsible for making HubSpot smarter by enabling a deeper understanding of its customers. They're not a centralized reporting-only team, they're a team of engineers who partner with our business leaders to understand the nuances of the data and HubSpot systems and provide access to the data they need to manage our business intelligently. They tackle HubSpot’s most complex data challenges, manage our Data Warehouse infrastructure, and provide support to each other and to a network of business analysts throughout the company. You will get to work in a best-in-class tech stack that includes Airflow, Snowflake, dbt, and Looker.
This role sits within our Data Warehouse Platform Pillar, on our Data Orchestration team. This team manages the infrastructure our stakeholders need to build their analytics models, and provide the mechanisms and tools for them to build and manage their own workflows based on data rich events within the platform. The team is focused on building scalable solutions for our stakeholders for both batch and realtime data orchestration needs.
In this role, you’ll get to:
Participate in the technical execution of business intelligence and analytics-related projects of large scope and complexity
Build and scale a robust data infrastructure that serves the entire organization
Translate business use cases into a set of technical deliverables
Build, contribute, and manage Data Warehouse Platform data orchestration solution.
Build data pipelines and data ingestions in Java
Work with columnar databases (Snowflake)
We’re looking for people who:
Can contribute to the codebase! Most of our backend codebase is in Java, but we also have elements written in Python.
Can collaborate/influence across all levels of the organization.
Are remarkable at building relationships with the Software Engineering teams and working with them to define standards and best practices for data ingestions from their systems.
Forge strong partnerships with Product Managers, Technical Leads, and teammates in translating business requirements into technical vision
Bring industry best practices to help us improve our existing data infrastructure, and continue to scale it with the growth of the business
Are committed to data quality, security, and privacy
Can work across and help build data distributed systems.
Cash compensation range: 218900-328400 USD Annually This resource will help guide how we recommend thinking about the range you see. The cash compensation above includes base salary, on-target commission for employees in eligible roles, and annual bonus targets under HubSpot’s bonus plan for eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation, some roles are eligible to participate in HubSpot’s equity plan to receive restricted stock units (RSUs). Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay.
