TEC Equipment has an opportunity for a Data Warehouse Engineer to help build out our enterprise Data Warehouse in Azure. This position needs to successfully interact with business stakeholders, product managers, and Power BI developers in order to envision, model and guide the build out of our data & analytics strategy. This is a hybrid position with two days per week required working from our corporate office.
- Help define and create a corporate business intelligence center of excellence
- Create, maintain, and improve performance of corporate Power BI models and data sources. This includes knowing when to recommend additional aggregation in OLAP cubes.
- Troubleshoot slow running reports
- Suggest solutions to overcome issues and solve future reporting initiatives
- Document and maintain a reporting catalog based on MDM standards that ensures data quality and governance
- Work directly with application developers, business analysts, SEO analysts and quality assurance personnel to deliver new Power BI models to stakeholders
- BS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of proven experience designing, developing and maintaining business intelligence solutions
- Experienced in Data Warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling), deployment and testing, including best practices
- Solid understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework
- 3+ years of proven experience with Azure Data Factory
- 5+ years working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server in Azure (managed instance)
- 3+ years experience creating and maintaining ETL packages
- Experience porting on-prem SSIS packages to Azure Data Factory
- In-depth knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to create, modify and maintain T-SQL queries and stored procs and associated indexes and health checks
- Crafting and executing queries upon request for stakeholders
- Success presenting information through reports and visualization
- Strong attention to detail
- An understanding of Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Crystal Reports or similar reporting tools
- Experience with Azure DevOps and Agile development a plus
- Source control
