The Position
The Digital Solutions Department is seeking a Data Warehouse Engineer. This position shapes processes, architecture, and organizational data management throughout the data life cycle by integrating core systems into a robust Data Warehouse system. Ensures cohesive digital infrastructure throughout the District by leveraging Extraction Transform Load (ETL) and ELT processes, cube development, dimensional design, and performance administration. Additionally, the position will oversee regulatory data compliance policies that adhere to Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency controls, and supports data governance, management, and security.
Essential Functions

1. Collaborates with analytical and business teams to improve data modeling integration, business intelligence tooling, data accessibility, and broker data-driven decision-making throughout the organization.
2. Implements scalable solutions that align with our data governance standards and architectural roadmap for data integration, storage, analytics, and reporting.
3. Develops a standardized data integration and data quality framework. Writes quality control validation unit test for integration and ensures functionality and documentation of work.
4. Coordinates with business partners for troubleshooting or enhancements that pertain to data-related processes or issues. Assists leadership staff in responding to operational issues in emergencies.
5. Builds and maintains a central repository of integrated data from one or more disparate sources with modern practices that adhere to industry standards.
6. Maintains a positive, engaged, equitable, and inclusive workplace culture within the department to improve the work groups' understanding and recognition of diversity in the workplace and foster multidisciplinary and integrated team approaches.
7. Drives a District vehicle for work related purposes.

Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE OF:

• Principles, practices, and techniques of management of information systems
• Information security, system integration, data and analytics, infrastructure application and program design, software systems development, business process design, and application portfolio management
• Current technologies of an information technology services division
• Principles and practices of strategy formulation, program planning, and project management
• Advanced server platforms, virtualization technologies, systems and application software
• Principles, practices, and applications of enterprise security practices and technical solutions
• Compliance requirements for security and licensing within the services provided by the District departments
• Principles and practices for meeting quality standards for customer service
• Contracting for information services including contract negotiations and performance monitoring
• Database technologies and warehouse schema patterns (i.e. snowflake, star)
• Contextual architecture for No-SQL and Relational Database Management Systems

Experience and Training Guidelines:
3 years' experience with a relational database, cloud database, No-SQL database architecture;
3 years' database management, traditional data pipelines, analytical pipelines, or integration.
College coursework in computer science, programming, database design, and administration, or related field
AZURE data certification preferred.
CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:Upon selection, candidates must possess and maintain a valid State issued driver's license.

Depending on hours worked and duration of the position, temporary employees may qualify for an offer of medical benefits, deferred compensation, and employee discounts. Temporary employees are eligible for sick leave at the rate of .0334 per hour worked upon beginning employment and may carry over up to 40 hours into the next calendar year.
