POSITIONSUMMARY:
The Data Visualization Specialist supports the Office of Institutional Research with the construction and development of Data Visualizations, dashboards, and data analytics. Primary responsibilities include identifying, designing, updating, and converting institutional data into high-quality and easily interpretable visualizations related to program development, program evaluation, institutional planning, evaluation of institutional effectiveness, and federal and state reporting.

ESSENTIALDUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIESINCLUDEBUTARENOTLIMITED TO THEFOLLOWING:
- Design, develop and update visualizations and reports that address important institutional and operational questions
- Produce timely, high-quality visualizations with an emphasis on accuracy
- Collaborate with stakeholders to support visualization projects and ensure sustainable and timely project delivery
- Apply best practices to Data Visualization techniques and share these practices with stakeholders
- Proactively identify and communicate dependencies, issues, risks and, or barriers to completing projects
- Understanding of relational database structure and strategic objectives to extract and organize relevant data for analysis
- Ability to assess trends and insight using multiple data sets and large amounts of data
- Coordinate or conduct other institutional research, including campus-wide initiatives, as necessary, to enhance the planning and decision-making process of the College
- Collaborate on initiatives such as the Data Cookbook, data governance, the College Dashboard, and engage in environmental scanning.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent knowledge and skills
- One to three years of relevant work experience
- Demonstrated experience with Data Visualization tools such as Tableau
- Basic understanding of statistical techniques
- Demonstrated experience with programming language such as SQL
Additional Experiences Considered
- Experience in Higher Education or relevant non-profit environment such as healthcare
- Experience with an ERP system such as Colleague, Banner, Peoplesoft
