Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Extraction, manipulate, and import data from various systems
- Identify and escalate concerns, assisting to problem solve identifying best means for importing data based on an ever-changing set of circumstances and system capabilities
- Reconcile and process electronic return, W2 & W3 files and payments in accordance with frequency as mandated by the tax authorities to maintain tax compliance. (Primary Responsibility)
- Troubleshooting of set-up and data integrity issues as needed for lower complexity agencies
- Resolve client questions expediently with a high level of service and communicate with them regarding tax filing and payment issues, and tax jurisdiction correspondences, escalating concerns as needed
- Proactively maintain positive relationships with peers within Tax Services and other Client Services teams
- Continue to improve system knowledge through collaboration with peers, technical support, and IT developers
- Provide communication and enhancement requests to Tax Compliance & Product & Engineering team and management of product development issues arising from problems identified through data integration and transmission efforts
- Maintain and facilitate promotion of department-initiated software enhancements
- Maintain a working environment that is energized and consistently demonstrates the Paycor service commitment and values
- Collaborate with other Client Service and Product & Engineering teams to share best practices and process improvements
- Four-year degree or equivalent experience preferred
- 3+ years prior accounting, tax or Paycor experience preferred
- 1+ year of Client Service experience, preferably business to business
- Experience with industry standard file formats such as EFW2, ICESA, and NACHA preferred
- 1+ years of experience preparing and filing payroll tax returns – federal, state, local and unemployment.
- Microsoft Office experience preferred: strong Excel proficiency required (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
- Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy with multiple data elements extracted from multiple data sources
- Possess strong organization and time management skills, must be able to prioritize tasks based on delivery dates, other milestones and perform well under agency-driven deadline pressures
- Takes initiative and demonstrates a high degree of ownership and accountability
- Strong problem solving and analytical thinking skills
- High technical aptitude; ability to adapt to frequent system and tool updates
- Demonstrated drive to learn new skills, enhance and implement process efficiencies for the betterment of the client, team and Paycor.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to manage projects and self-motivated
- Must be able to work in a team environment, as well as independently
- Must be available to work extended hours during peak season volume
- Highly organized, able to prioritize, with exceptional follow through.
