Description
We are recruiting Data Scientists - Intermediate on behalf of our client, a modern federal consulting firm focused on human experience, digital services, and business transformation, for a role at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.
Data Scientists will provide support to services to include related activities in support of all complete lifecycle management, software maintenance, software engineering, software sustainment, software replication and distribution, software control, Information Technology (IT) technical support services, Post Deployment Software Support (PDSS), Post Production Software Support (PPSS), and Cybersecurity.
These services advance our client's mission of ensuring operational readiness by developing, providing, integrating, and maintaining Army Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR), Logistics, and Business Software.

Responsibilities
- Data mining or extracting usable data from valuable data sources
- Using machine learning tools to select features, create and optimize classifiers
- Carrying out preprocessing of structured and unstructured data
- Enhancing data collection procedures to include all relevant information for developing analytic systems
- Processing, cleansing, and validating the integrity of data to be used for analysis
- Analyzing large amounts of information to find patterns and solutions
- Developing prediction systems and machine learning algorithms
- Presenting results in a clear manner
- Propose solutions and strategies to tackle business challenges
Qualifications
- Secret security clearance is required to start. Must be willing to clear to the TS level if the position requires the high clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, information technology, or closely related field
- Must have 7 years working with data including data sourcing, data analysis and data integration
- Business Intelligence experience including experience with data sourcing, data integration and data quality projects
- Ability to work with client to analyze and define the business processes and documentation that needs an IT solution
- Ability to work with minimal direction and focus on delivering results in a fast-paced work environment
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future
Desired Qualifications
- Three years of professional business experience developing PowerBi/Tableau-like business intelligence applications, dashboards, and data models
- Strong SQL skills to query SQL databases; experience with Data analysis tools like Alteryx is preferred
- Three years of professional business experience developing PowerBi/Tableau-like business intelligence applications, dashboards, and data models is preferred
