Job Title: Senior Data Scientist


POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be responsible for creating and implementing machine learning models that align with the business use case. This will require collaborating with clients to understand their business needs, identify the relevant data sources, and use exploratory data analysis to understand the data and perform feature engineering. You will also be responsible for developing, implementing and tuning machine learning models and algorithms that meet business objectives, and evaluating model performance using business and mathematical metrics. You will also be working closely with development and infrastructure team to deploy and manage the models in production.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have expertise in machine learning algorithms and tools, and be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will also need to be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop custom machine learning models and algorithms to improve our product capabilities and expand our offerings

• Create an operational framework to operationalize the models in real-time and managing end-to-end ML/AI projects

• Selecting and employing advanced statistical procedures to obtain actionable insights

• Collaborate with different business users to evaluate requirements and develop domain knowledge

• Engage with clients to plug-in these offerings in our existing programs

• Work with product team to help prototype new analytics offerings and advance our AI/ML roadmap

• Collaborate with data engineers to build reusable data pipelines and data model

• Advocate for good data quality and ML ops best practices

• Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes

• Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy

• Mentor new team members in data science best practices and coding standards

• Stay up to date on latest data science developments to ensure that the outputs are always relevant

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • MS degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Statistics, Operations Research, Bioinformatics, Economics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering).
  • 4-6 years of hands-on experience in data science, machine learning, visualization, and data storytelling; passionate about drawing insights and hidden patterns from data
  • Meticulous attention to detail, data integrity and data wrangling
  • Experience with statistical software (e.g., R, Python, Julia, MATLAB, pandas)
  • Advanced SQL skills
  • Experience with BI tools such as (Tableau, PowerBI, Sisense)
  • Experience with AWS tools and infrastructure

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms
  • Experience articulating business questions and using mathematical techniques to arrive at an answer using available data. Experience translating analysis results into business recommendations
  • Demonstrated skills in selecting the right statistical tools given a data analysis problem. Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and self-direction. Demonstrated willingness to both teach others and learn new techniques.
  • Great communication skills
  • Experience in healthcare is preferred
