Job Description
This is a temporary position from November 2022-March 2023. Those hired will work remotely from home, but must be live in commuting distance of Chicago, IL
Position Overview:
Case Processing Analyst II (CPA II) duties will include reviewing incoming applications, assessing employer filing and supporting documentation against applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, conducting integrity reviews (i.e., audits or supervised recruitment), performing employer existence/verification and sponsorship checks, conducting prevailing wage determinations, developing and preparing case file documentation for administrative appeal processes, drafting official correspondence, maintaining administrative case files, and providing recommendations to the certifying officer regarding the merits of the applications.
Responsibilities:
- Applying knowledge of a range of immigrant and non-immigrant related laws, regulations, legal decisions, principles, and methods applicable to the visa program sufficient to produce accurate and substantive recommendations for labor certification determination.
- Reviewing applications for completeness, absence of obvious errors or inaccuracies, and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
- Maintaining administrative case file documentation in an organized and accurate manner.
- Preparing a variety of documents, correspondences, and reports using word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
- Answering telephone calls, faxes, and electronic mail in a courteous, business-like manner.
- Assisting in the validation of the business status of the employer, determining whether the number of workers requested for certification represent bona fide job opportunities, evaluating the necessity of employer job requirements, and, if applicable, determining whether the named foreign worker is being sponsored for US employment by the employer duly named on the visa application.
- Conducting integrity reviews, audit examinations, supervised recruitment, and prevailing wage determinations.
- Complying with all applicable immigration laws, Federal regulations, program and policy guidance and standard operating procedures.
- Providing recommendations to Federal staff regarding the disposition of each application that is fully supported by the case documentation.
Level II Duties:
CPA II is a journeyman level position able to independently perform all analyst tasks with close supervision from the Analyst Supervisor/Team Lead. This position will assist in processing any visa application or application process where the standard of review or operating procedures are moderately complex (e.g., Analyst Review in PERM) and requires an in-depth knowledge of application of certain aspects of immigration laws, regulations, polices, or program procedures.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (Related work experience of five (5) years or more, two of which must be supervisory experience, that clearly establishes that the candidate has the required communications and analytic skills, may be substituted for the required bachelor's degree).
- Minimum two (2) years of work experience in a field or discipline that demonstrates specific analytical and communication skills, both orally and in writing.
